CD Lyric Booklet

This project allowed for me to learn a lot of InDesign techniques and tricks to placing type, images and general practice of early graphic design principals. Songs have a lot of lyrics at times, so getting the type to look consistent as well as fit all of the words that were needed was a very difficult challenge.

This project was based around us having a predetermined text that we needed to rearrange and format into a branded annual report. I took a more modern approach to Samuel Adams, while still keeping within their registered colours and utilized images I could find that showcased the brand and what they had to offer.

“Bookworm” Infographic

In part of the process to Bookworm, a survey was conducted based on elements of the app that I wanted to address. This infographic is a compilation of the statistics gathered from the survey and is ultimately what I based design elements off of in regards to the application itself.

Sunnyside Skillet is a fictitious brand that is keen on making cast iron pans affordable as well as promoting the importance of breakfast! The brand encourages consumers to make breakfast, even if it as small as the skillet, to ensure that everyone is starting their day off right with a body full of energy.

Magpie Collectors App

Similar to Bookworm, this project was an introduction into proper UI/ UX design elements and how to go about using Adobe XD. Magpie is an app for collectors so that they can share, shop and trade from their collections. The app also showcases upcoming conventions and trade shows for purchasing or selling merchandise.

“Downbeat” Vinyl & Lyric Sleeve

For the 80’s Hip Hop band “Downbeat,” I created a vinyl and lyric sheet that showcased the songs within the album. They had a rustic, homemade feel that was complemented with bright text and mob script on the cover and throughout the brand. Downbeat is accented by the interesting colours within their stage photography and ultimately their stage presence.

Steam Redesign Project

While learning the basics of UI/UX design, I chose to address the
problems I saw and experienced with the Steam mobile app. I went through the development process of figuring out what was good and bad design, and created my edits based around my research. Utilizing XD allowed me to rig the application and create a realistic prototype of the corrections.
