Self Portraiture

One of the fundamentals of art is being able to draw what you observe. This project was about teaching oil painting techniques like underpainting, glazing and other traditional skills for the medium. We practiced how to properly size the elements in the drawing and working in the moment to capture the most realistic lighting and colour for the piece.

Zion Canyon

While practicing black and white underpainting techniques, I rendered a photo I took on my recent trip to Zion Canyon. This project allowed me to re-familiarize myself with my drawing program, as well as experiment with different rendering styles to create texture and depth within the piece.

UNLV Holiday Card

As part of a contest for class, we were tasked with making a holiday
card for UNLV. It had to be nondenominational and have aspects of
UNLV or Las Vegas within it. I believed a cute little tortoise chilling
in the rocky desert, catching the few snowflakes we get, would be a
cute image to have on a simple holiday card for those at UNLV.

Lucky Peach Magazine Spread

As part of a dual writing and illustration assignment, I had to detail my connection to my favorite food. I chose cheese-steaks as I am from Philly and it is a connection to home that I can get here in Nevada. I drew inspiration from aspects of old shops, ingredients, and even the history of the cheese-steak.

Meet Ella – a fun, quirky and flirty gal who casually gets lost in forests! Her sticker pack is a mix of static and animation that allows users to convey all of their odd emotions! Designed for all devices, Ella is a sight for sore eyes and will leave a bitter taste in your mouth (trust me, she’s weird).
